You can also simply touch nav, onscreen to see all your options. The voice prompt menu lets you adjust the volume. It's also where you'll go to turn on or off features like voice guidance, speech confirmation and traffic voice prompts. The route preference menu, is where you'll change the options when a route is planned to make sure you skip the roads you don't want to drive on. If you select the low fuel warning option, your screen will show you the nearest gas stations when you're getting close to empty. Your nav system uses a series of symbols, that indicate the current position of your vehicle, and the direction it's going. These symbols appear on the map, and menus once you begin your plotted route.

The compass symbol indicates that the map view is in north up mode, which will keep the display set with north, always at the top of the screen. Press it once, and the mode changes to heading up, and you'll see this symbol. This is where the top of the map shows the direction your vehicle is heading at any time. Press it again and the map moves into 3D heading-up mode. This symbol, marks a waypoint, or stopover destination, that you've added to your route.

This icon marks your final destination. And, if this symbol appears onscreen, there is no GPS signal available. This symbol marks your current position. Your vehicle uses GPS, or global positioning system signals, to determine the precise position of your car on the road. This signal may be interrupted from time to time for a variety of reasons. When your vehicle begins receiving a satellite signal again, the symbol turns off. This symbol will appear on the left side of the nav screen if a menu is available which will show options available at any time, including the ability to cancel your route.

This symbol indicates the estimated distance and time until you reach your destination. These symbols are used to navigate up and down within the menu. Go ahead and press them to check the options. Press the back button to close the menu.
