I recently added another welding machine to my 'arsenal'. It's an old Hobart TR-300 AC/DC stick welder. Up until now, if I wanted to stick weld, I've been using my Lincoln Square Wave TIG 175 in stick mode.which has worked out just fine.

But, a local manufacturing plant that made knives went out of business (over a 100 year old company) and auctioned off the whole factory.I really went to buy a Bridgeport mill, but didn't get one of those. The Hobart was part of their maintenance department and I doubt it was used a whole lot.looks to be in good shape with some heavy-duty 3/0 welding leads.

I haven't used it yet because I need to change the plug and make sure it's wired properly internally for my electrical service. The plate says it can be wired for 208/230/440 single phase so should be no problem. Anybody know anything about the TR-300?
